OMMX & The Design Museum

The roar of the crowd. The enveloping swell of the chants. The electrifying cheer when the ball crosses the goalposts. Any fan can tell you that the sound of a football match is half of the experience – which is what we had in mind when we created a soundscape for this exhibition dedicated to the beautiful game. The final result is a blend of field recordings taken across the spectrum of footballing culture, from 5-A-Side and Premiership League games to international team chants - all of which capture the unparalleled energy of the world’s most beloved sport.

About

In music, the ‘coda’ is the concluding passage of a piece or movement. At Coda to Coda, we design sound from end to end. That means consultancy and curation. Production and engineering. Original compositions and full-scale audio design. Our work encompasses soundtracks, installations, recordings, and spans the worlds of art, gaming, fashion, TV, and film.

We believe that sound should be the starting point, not an afterthought - it’s an essential part of the design process that brings value and speaks to audiences intuitively. Filmmakers have long used original scores to heighten the emotional power and impact of cinema. We believe this experience can - and should - translate to every medium.

From our fully-equipped London studio, we work with our clients to create multifaceted audio experiences that enhance every step of the listener’s journey. We’ve produced soundscapes for some of the world’s biggest brands and institutions, in locations from New York to Hong Kong (and won a number of awards in the process). You can find out more about our past and ongoing projects here.

Whether you’re looking for a custom audio installation, creative sound design for an exhibition, or an original soundtrack for a film - you’ve come to the right place. We’d love to work with you.
